I was very excited at the prospect of England at the euro's. I thought with a English manager who in my opinion had an excellent international and domestic pedigree and with the players once again smiling we could make a statement. Drawing Italy in the quarters I really fancied us.... To get stuffed bye Germany in the semi's. But once again the penalties beat us! Or did they?? 
Well in fact we did lose to penalties, but what about the opening 20 minutes? Did i not witness England roam all over the Azuri? Create several clear cut chances namely headers for that scouse larker goes bye the name of Rooney!! Yet once again at a major tournament the prodigy Rooney failed to turn up. The press and fans said he was unfit.... was he?? Right and that's an excuse to under-perform, again!! If carol had been on from the start I would bet he would have scored one of the several headed chances that fell Rooney's way! The same could have been said for poor Grant Holt, 2nd top English goalscorer but no call up, same for peter crouch. Sorry Roy, you got your squad and team selection wrong. Rooney got on the team sheet because he's Rooney and might just do something fantastic. Joke pal, joke!
